Privacy policy
BienSorti (“the App”, “we”) is a family safety copilot designed to help parents check that everyone has left the vehicle at the end of a trip. This policy explains what information is used, how it is processed, and what your rights are.
1. Data controller
The BienSorti app is published by BienSorti.

2. Core principle: your data stays on your phone
BienSorti has no backend server and does not sync your data to the cloud. The information listed below is stored only on your device, in the app's local storage (AsyncStorage and native iOS/Android storage for background monitoring). The app works without an account and without a mandatory internet connection for trip detection and reminders.
Your data is not sold, rented, or shared with advertisers or data brokers.
3. Data processed by the app
3.1 Data you enter
- Children's first names — to personalize reminders and the interface.
- Date of birth (optional) — displayed in the child profile if you choose to provide it.
- Preferences — monitoring toggle, reminder delay, alert sound, volume, and other settings.
3.2 Automatically generated data
- GPS position and speed — processed in real time to detect an ongoing trip and vehicle stops. BienSorti does not keep a location history or a map of your movements.
- Movement activity — on iOS (Core Motion) and Android (Activity Recognition), to detect when you're likely in a vehicle or stopped, in order to optimize detection and battery consumption.
- Trip history — start and end timestamps, status (in progress, confirmed, alert, etc.), indication of likely child presence, and detection source (GPS or motion).
- Internal safety state — state machine and last known position, used temporarily to trigger reminders; local geofencing anchors serve only to wake background monitoring and never leave your device.
3.3 Data we do not collect
- No user account or mandatory email address in the app.
- No geolocation sent to our servers (there are none).
- No mapped trips or continuous tracking of your daily movements.
- No advertising, no ad tracking, no third-party analytics in the app or on biensorti.com.
- No photos, contacts, or address book access.
4. Permissions requested
The app requests the following permissions, solely to function:
- Location (including background) — to detect speed and the end of a trip when the app is not in the foreground. A system indicator (iOS) or persistent notification (Android, foreground service) may show that monitoring is active.
- Motion and activity — on iOS (Core Motion) and Android (activity recognition), to detect when you're likely in a vehicle or stationary. This complements GPS and limits battery use.
- Notifications — to send local reminders asking you to confirm everyone has left the vehicle, with progressive escalation (stronger nudge, then sound alarm if you don't respond). BienSorti uses local notifications only; no remote push notifications are used.
You can revoke these permissions at any time in your phone's settings. Some essential features will then stop working.
5. Purposes of processing
Data is used exclusively to:
- detect a vehicle trip and its stop (GPS and, where applicable, motion activity);
- estimate whether a child is likely present;
- send progressive confirmation reminders at the end of a trip;
- display trip history in the app;
- preserve your settings and profiles between sessions.
6. Legal basis (GDPR)
For users in the European Economic Area, processing is based on your consent (system permissions) and on the performance of the service you request by installing and configuring the app.
7. Retention period
Data is kept on your device for as long as the app is installed. You can delete history or child profiles from within the app. Uninstalling BienSorti removes the local data associated with the app (JavaScript storage and native monitoring storage).
8. Children
BienSorti is intended for parents and legal guardians. The app does not directly collect information from children. Only first names (and, if you wish, a date of birth) entered by the parent are stored locally to personalize the experience. Enter only the information strictly necessary.
9. Your rights
Under the GDPR, you have the following rights:
- Access — view data in the app (profiles, history).
- Rectification — edit names and settings at any time.
- Erasure — delete children, history, or uninstall the app.
- Withdrawal of consent — disable permissions or monitoring.
- Objection / restriction — turn off monitoring in settings.
For any question or request regarding your data: contact@biensorti.com. You may also lodge a complaint with the CNIL (France) or the data protection authority in your country.
10. Third-party services and transfers outside the EU
BienSorti does not transfer your trips, profiles, or history to its own servers. On Android, some system functions (activity recognition, geofencing) rely on Google Play Services, which may process technical signals according to Google's policy. App stores (Apple App Store, Google Play) may collect their own technical data when you download or update — see their respective policies.
The site biensorti.com does not use advertising cookies or visitor analytics tools. If you email us, we process your message solely to reply.
11. Security
Data remains in the app's sandboxed space on your device, protected by the operating system's security mechanisms (iOS / Android). Background monitoring runs through a native module integrated into the app, without sending your trips or profiles to a BienSorti cloud.
12. Changes
This policy may be updated to reflect changes in the app. The last updated date appears at the top of this page. In case of significant changes, we will update this page and, if necessary, notify you through the app or the website.
